Mid-Ohio Valley Work Camp – Wednesday

Greetings, once again, from MOV Work Camp in West Virginia.

After a long day of pushing hard almost every moment, I’m beyond tired. We are grateful for incredibly good attitudes amongst our crew. What a great bunch of young people! Although a couple of sites were cleared due to thunderstorms, we were able to press on throughout the day. The heat and humidity combined their forces during the afternoon, producing a real scorcher. Still, we kept our noses to the grind stone all day. Given the fact that tomorrow is our last day, we had to. The team graciously responded without complaint. Did I mention that this is a great bunch of young people?

Today’s Observations:

— Our devotional verses were Colossians 3:23-24, which read, “23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” It was music to my ears to hear many members of the crew recite these verses from memory. What was even more of a blessing was to see them put these verses into practice in their lives as they labored for the Lord all day long.

— Here’s a picture of our team:

I feel your pain and tiredness but it’s a good pain and tiredness. It has been great to meet and drink some Tim Horton’s Coffee with you. Be safe on your return trip home.
