A Christmas Project

As most Spiritual Oasis readers are aware, I regularly run the missionary reports Tarrah and Dave Hildreth. This couple, along with their children, is laboring in South Africa. My association with Tarrah and her family goes back almost 25 years. It gives my heart great joy to see, even though it is from a great distance, the good work that Tarrah and Dave are doing. They are not only meeting the immediate, physical needs of children whose lives have been ravaged by the impact of HIV/AIDS, they are also sowing the seed of God’s Word into the hearts of the young and old alike, which will bear fruit in eternity.

This is why it is my privilege to make you aware of a special Christmas project which Tarrah and Dave attempting to bring to fruition. Tarrah writes:

We would like to go to the hospital on Christmas day and present each child there with a gift. We think this will be about 200 children. Of the 200, at least half of them are HIV positive. We would like to give each one a wrapped present with a small toy of some sort and a color book, colors and candy. We will also include the story of the birth of Jesus. For about $12 each we can do this. If you would like to help with this, please let me know as soon as possible so I know if this is possible or not.

Would you be willing to help with this need? Would you be willing to spread the word about this need? Your assistance is very much needed. Your assistance can and will make a huge difference in the lives many precious South African children.

So that we would have an idea of who it is that we are helping Tarrah has supplied us with a couple of photographs and descriptions, which I’ve inserted below.

I am sending a couple of photos from the hospital. My sister brought me 60 little containers of Play-Doh when she was here so the group photo is of the kids and their Play-Doh. The second photo is of one of my favorite little boys; Prince. He is 5 years old and has AIDS. His inability to smile reminds me of how Alisa was when we first met. He wants me to hold him and he holds my hand but I have yet to see a smile. He is so weak and sick. Please pray for him.

Will be keeping Alisa in prayer. Do keep us updated. I believe Jesus healed and He still heals today! God allows this to happen for His own purpose. Do let me know how much the ministry needs via email? Thanks!
