Sermon Seminar Bound…

Dare We Live In the World Imagined In the Sermon on the Mount?

This is the theme of this year's Sermon Seminar hosted by Rochester College, which gets under way on Monday. I'm en route to Michigan as I write these lines.

Seminar presenters include:

STANLEY HAUERWAS, the Gilbert T. Rowe Professor of Theological Ethics at the Divinity School of Duke University.

CHARLES L. CAMPBELL, the Peter Marshall Professor of Homiletics at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.

WARREN CARTER, Professor of New Testament at Saint Paul School of Theology, centers much of his research on the gospel of Matthew.

DENNIS DEWEY, whose itinerant, international, and ecumenical ministry of story telling has opened Scripture, allowing people to hear the powerful stories as they were originally experienced: as breath and sound and life, not as silent ink on paper.

RICHARD HUGHES, a spirited teacher, selected by Pepperdine's student body as "Faculty Person of the Year" and "Outstanding Freshman Seminar Teacher."

JERRY TAYLOR, Assistant Professor of Bible and Ministry at Abilene Christian University.

One Response to Sermon Seminar Bound…

  1. Cecil Walker says:

Enjoy the Rochester Seminar. We enjoyed their chorus just a few weeks ago. Some of the kids were talking about Dr. Hauerwas with anticipation. I’ve never heard the man speak but they seemed quite interested.
